Garage Trim

Garage Trim

The garage trim is an important feature in your home, its supposed to keep out stuff. Mice, bugs etc come around a corner and quite possibly find an easy way in. We feature a wide variety of home-seal techniques to keep the bugs/rodents out. Storm Shield is just a easy way to keep rain and bugs out, it compresses against the garage trim to make a seal. Over the years of living in a home, things wear out and need replacing. Door seal, window seals and even weep screens need checking. We also install Garage Door Rodent Guards, they adhere to the bottom of the runner/plastic trim on garage seals. They deter mice/rodents from gnawing at the base and gaining entry.

Wildlife & birds

I had a customer call once with a skunk inside the garage, I really thought it would just mousey on but it didn’t. They had left the garage door open and it decided to take up home in a cabinet. We had to trap the skunk, it wouldn’t leave. But is wasn’t before it decided to squirt one day, then they had to leave the door open. It even permeated the house, yuuuuuck! Birds and wildlife can also build nests in the dryer vent exhaust, we clean them and install a device to stop them from building or getting inside.

Wasps

Did you know they are almost all female, the original wasp builds the first paper nests and starts laying eggs. The initial generations then start helping Mom, they tend to all the duties and Mom is available to just lay eggs. I will tell you that I think they are the most vicious in general of the stingers out there. They always seem to give you that look, if you get close. I’ve encountered Bald-faced Hornets (ground type) and even they weren’t as nasty. I also think the toughest wasps are those in bushes, you can’t see them and they attack without warning. A friend in Ireland had some issues with wasps, check it out?

Wasps can sting multiple times, not honeybees.

Pest Control Pricing

Every pest control company has a different pest control pricing and I like this. This gives you the customer an option to choose what works for you. I never did understand the difference in charging more for Every Other Month (EOM) versus Quarterly (QTR). So does anyone do more or do they hope the pesticide last longer? Some companies charge a lower price monthly but only service Every Other Month. You’re still only getting 6 services, and technically you are paying the EOM price.

So I had that epiphany, only charge the monthly price on everything we do (less than 2000 square feet) so here’s how it works

1-time service $45

Monthly service $45

EOM service $45

QTR service $45

disclaimer – less that 2000 square feet and not including German roaches, honeybees, bedbugs or termites. So if you’re paying $76 for EOM call ProBest, if you’re paying $105 and anything higher than $45 call ProBest.

Pest Control Maricopa and a few extra area, including Apache Junction, Gold Canyon, Gila Bend, Florence and Coolidge. We cover the entire Valley and sometimes depending on the issues the outskirts. The great thing about us, is that we handle downtown to rural. From Bees to Termites and of course everything in between like snakes and wildlife.

On demand Pest Control

Are you a snowbird or travel throughout the year, how would you like an on demand service? Whenever you call, we go. Or you can pretty much set it up any way you want the pest control done. The bugs don’t go away just because you did, hey are always looking for that door into your home.

On demand Pest Control – I’ve noticed lately people are getting quite inventive on pest control selling. One item I noticed this week is that they tell you its only $25 monthly but then they say we are only going to show every 3 month – total = $300 so don’t get duped into signing a contract when ProBest service is $45 any way you want it. Quarterly or Qtr Pest Control with ProBest Pest Management is $180.

Some companies also upsell the Every other Month and Quarterly saying they take longer but you can only do so much. Scorpions require some extra work and Quarterly service based on how long the chemical last, how much sun it gets and if anything is digging up dirt may not work. Stay tuned for a product that may help with all this. I’ll post as soon as I can reference to this product.

We also carry a product that keeps the drains in your home from evaporating. Sewer gas Solutions. The other reason with our service is that we may see things others aren’t looking for, like honeybees. I have run across a burst water line in backyard, water meter boxes leaking and tons of water issues under crawlspaces. Adult Antlions

So what are Adult Antlions? Have you ever seen those holes in dry sand? It resembles the Sarlacc from star wars fame. It first appeared in the film Return of the Jedi (1983) as a multi-tentacled alien beast whose immense, gaping jaw is lined with several rows of sharp teeth. As a child I would dig up them up and watch the tiny little lion use its jaws, then put it back and feed it an ant.

Its amazing to me that this little thing becomes a huge winged bug. I guess that some insect species, are way to cool for their good. Like the caterpillar to butterfly and dragon fly nymph to dragon fly. Some cool creatures are out there. I really love those jumping spiders – the ones that are the size of a dime and multi colored. There is one called the Peacock Jumping Spider by Jurgen Otto that is so colorful, even has a tail appendage that is bright just like a Peacock. There are also those creepy things that go bump in the night, Zombie spiders (I’m kidding) no such thing. But the movie Arachnophobia (scary), freaks me out every time I see it. We all have those things that scare us, maybe its rodents or maybe spiders. Adult Antlions are the adult version of the small predatory antlions that wait for their victims. Adults just feed on nectar and pollen so be careful out there if you fall in their hole jk not that big. Now if you ran into the Sarlacc, that would be something that could get you…

Spray-on glass

Scorpion glass – One of my strong traits is that I love new technology. I read the current Pest Control magazines like Pest Management Professional and Pest Control Technology. I ran across a product that I definitely think is a game-changer to pests in your home or business. So let’s step back a few years – a company was going to install glass on your slab visible under the stucco. I thought this was too labor-intensive and posed some issues with dirt sticking to the glass and where it connected together.

This week I came across a product from ScorpionRepel.com – I loved this premise. This is a glass-like spray, applied to your slab, and partway up the stucco depending on slab, which prevents scorpions from climbing. They further indicated that they could spray into the garage and below any doors. So far approximately 250 homes have been treated with very good results. No staining, clear which won’t yellow and won’t damage your paint. It will stick to any material such as bricks, metal, and stucco. If it is painted over it needs another treatment and treatment is expected to last about 3 years.

Benefits:

In conjunction with pest control, Scorpion glass can reduce scorpion and prey food.
Home-sealing is another avenue to take
The scorpion stays in the treated pesticide zone longer.
More work can be performed in areas that bugs hide and reduce whole yard spraying.

Every Other Month or EOM pest control can be a benefit to many homeowners in the Arizona market. It really depends on the severity of your issue, no one wants a mouse in the house but might be OK with 1 roach. I’ve also seen people freak out over a roach, I’m that way with large spiders, so I empathize with those folks.

One of my biggest recommendations is to check out the company before you use them, we advertise in the SunCity area with PORA. We also have Google, BBB rating of A+ and Yelp, caution judge all the comments not just one or bad. Every once in awhile you have a challenge and needs to be rectified – I call those opportunities.
