‘Bug bomb’ burns house – Henry County, GA

Read that last line from the Fire Captain and the entire story to see what happens when people don’t read or follow label and use directions.

 

The fire captain suggested a few simple tips, to prevent the devastation of losing a home to fire, and/or an explosion in an attempt to rid the home of bugs.

#• Carefully read the product label first. Product labels provide information on how to use the product safely. Ask for help if you have trouble understanding the instructions.

#• Turn off all possible ignition sources when using bug bombs. This includes stoves, heaters, and water heaters that have pilot lights. Be sure to turn off all electrical appliances that may generate heat or sparks.

#• Use only the number of foggers you need for the area you want to treat. You will find that information in the directions. Using more than the recommended number does not eliminate pests faster.

#• Reduce the need for chemical pesticides. Follow Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices to keep pests away (cover garbage, keep food in plastic containers, keep house clean, etc.).

#• Contact a commercial applicator to control the presence of pests if you are experiencing a severe infestation.

“Man sets house ablaze while killing spiders with blowtorch” It continues to surprise me and by now you would think it wouldn’t faze me but come on folks. What was he thinking?

I guess I was thinking it just seems to be the Bed Bug hysteria but I was wrong, wouldn’t a broom been just as easy? This also cuts across almost every state in the U.S. Please think before you do anything like this, it may seem fun but in this case = no home!

Desperation leads to BIG mistake! Bed Bugs

 

30 people have to find a new place to live for awhile , woman in Kentucky uses alcohol to treat her couch and this action leads to fire. “Kentucky woman sets apartment on fire while attempting to kill bed bugs“

There is a place and reason to hiring a Professional, just like I don’t repair the brakes on my cars or company vehicles. I probably could do it but it isn’t my life and frankly other people do it better. What I can do and I’m rather good at it is understanding bugs and how to eliminate them. Its not always about

As if the Bed Bugs weren’t bad enough!!!!

“Women torches bedbug – infested mattress while angry at husband.” Tampa Bay, Florida http://www.wtsp.com

This all happened the day before Valentine’s Day, the husband didn’t react fast enough so she lit the mattress on fire. I love what the Pest Management Professional Greg Rice of Hulett Environmental Services said

As for the infestation, Rice says if there were bedbugs in the apartment, it’s doubtful they all died in the fire.

“I don’t know if she killed the bedbugs, but she certainly killed that mattress.”
