End of the year – holiday bug photo spread

I could not help but to pass this along, I’m sure all of us have from time to time run across a bug and thought WOW that is colorful. Well Live Science did a little Christmas photo article “Tis the season: Gallery of Festive Insects“, by Remy Melina. Great article!

My favorite is the Candy Cane Moth or maybe the Antlered Wasp. What is your favorite? Have you ever walked in the woods and instead of looking up, try looking down and spotting the beauty and grandeur of the bug world. There are many insects out there that are just beautiful, I know what you’re thinking – they are bugs. Remember without bugs we might not be here on earth, many pollinate and also turn wood into soil.

Remember there will always be bugs, the key is to keep them out of our homes.

Snakes shed their skin to grow and discard this skin by brushing up against something rough scratching the old skin into peeling. We in turn shed our skin piece by piece, small flakes just fall off as we grow. Did you know that spiders and scorpions shed their skin as well. Sometimes you will see what you think is a dead spider in a web and it’s actually a shedded skin. We have a tarantula at the office and it is a freaky site to see when it sheds its skin. It turns upside down and pulls itself out. A spider can actually regrow a leg if one is lost. As I said freaky. This was probably the case here with the architecture of this building, rough edges creating the ability to start the process of shedding. No idea what type of snake this could have been, but we run into snakes all the time in the field. Just remember they were here before us and we need to use caution when in their area possibly hiking or camping.

Snakes eat a lot of small prey including mice, rats and rodents in general. So they can be a benefit to us, in that they can keep the population of rodents down.

Boy this is a scary photo…

Boy this is a scary photo, always take care when placing your hand anywhere!

You go shopping and pick up a roll or two of toilet apper and you take it home and put it on the spindel. Never in your wildest imagination do you think there is something lurking in the dark. I’m even freaked out by this photo! Pest Control is often done at facilites that make products but along the way hitchhikers can and do get onto pallets. Its essential that we all take the time to be observant.

Take care and call ProBest Pest Management if you want us to take care of the bugs and spiders in your life….
