Arizona Scorpion Control & Prevention Services

How Dangerous Are Scorpions?

The Phoenix area may be home to the largest scorpion in North America, the Desert Hairy Scorpion, but not the deadliest. However, that is not to say you have nothing to worry about. The more common Arizona Bark Scorpion is venomous and often found in and around your Phoenix home. While the Arizona Bark Scorpion is the one species to be most concerned about, the sting is more annoying and painful, than it is harmful and deadly.

Many residents and visitors to the Phoenix area assume that every scorpion they see is the Arizona Bark Scorpion. And, although the Bark Scorpion is more common, there are roughly 30 species of scorpion that call Arizona home. Of the many varieties, there are three common species that you are likely to come across in the Phoenix metro area.
