Sub Termites

Sub Termites

Sub Termites – They are creepy and they are always trying to find wood = your home or business. 24/7/365 ALWAYS LOOKING. Look for signs and don’t encourage them to come to your dinner plate. Stop them by eliminating what they want.

  1. Check your home monthly for sign of bugs/pests.
  2. Don’t over water.
  3. Reduce plants,  bushes and trees under the eave of the house.
  4. Don’t plant vines.
  5. Maintain a few inches of space between stucco and ground or rock.
  6. Look for tubes, grass eating termites and castles. Don’t put items over the expansion joint in garage, make it visible.
  7. Once every few years have a Pest Management Professional do an inspection. Pay them its worth it.
  8. Don’t cheap out – your home is an investment. Make it last.

Fail – bird issues

Fail – bird issues

Fail or worse? Sometimes it turns out to just be a mess, this is also why we don’t use plastic. The metal ones hold up better in the sun and heat and tend not to brown and break. The best plan is to hire a Pest Management Professional – state certified, insured and the knowledge to do great work. When the poop falls and it will, where does it land? In the way of patrons at a restaurant, boutique or food store? Does that make them buy less, shop less or just gross them out?

Use quality products, think about how pigeons operate and install like you mean it. Or better yet call a Pro. Done and done right!

It’s not the appliance but the hole that lets in the critters.

The appliance and the hole.

The appliance and your home. It’s the hole that affects the entry of the pests. Often the wall socket is surrounded by the cover but may still allow pests. The cover may fit tightly but the technique is to fill in that gap with caulking. By sealing the outside, you stop the pests outside. But if there is a gap and they encounter it they may get in. Home-sealing is still the best option and helps to add one more line of defense against the possible invasion of pests.

Home-sealing eliminates the holes or crack that scorpions, ants and spiders may take into your home. You can do your own sealing or hire a professional company to do it. It is better to be done in the winter if you you-re doing it as it HOT and messy. You can do the inside any ole time and its easy enough to do, pull the cover down or off and caulk.

Are you facing bug problems at your home/business?

Got bug problems?

Bugs and bug problems are a realty of life but there is no reason to put up with them at your home or business, right? Your family is most important to you, how about friends and coworkers? I’m reminded of the recent issue with United Airlines. Not the one where they hauled that guy off the plane but the scorpion incident. Someone once told me there is no such thing as bad press, United Airlines may argue that point with you. So what is a good ad to project that you know bug/pest control? I think the ad below reflects a good sign of competence in Pest Management, along with knowledge of the bug business and good reviews. Tell me what you think?

Rodent Design Service – Arizona

Is a rodent eating the fruit

Probably the most difficult thing to control is a mouse or rodent within your home or business. I hate the fact that a mouse urinates as it walks or runs, disgusting. It is really important to home-seal, to prevent them from getting into your home or business. Along with the fact of the mouse and their presence, don’t forget that they carry diseases and parasites like fleas or ticks. OK just a few facts on reproduction:

Mice – reproduce up to 8 times in their lifetime with 4-7 pups = 56 babies per year.

Rats – reproduce 4-7 litters per year with 5-12 pups per year = 84 babies.

Business or home – how are the rodents getting in?

Are rats getting into your business or home?

Does your business or home have these kinds of openings? The garage door is often the last place most people think about when investigating where the mice/rats are getting in. Click on the picture and you will see about 1/2 inch or more under that garage door – great access for mice or rats. https://callprobest.com/ and check out our StormShield garage door thresholds. Perfect for keeping out the rain, bugs and rodents.

It doesn’t stop there, a home-seal and consistency in inspecting the structure is a must.

DIY home repairs , do it right…

DIY home repairs –

In DIY home repairs – don’t use chicken wire, spend the time and do it right with hardware cloth. Or better yet give ProBest Pest Management a call and have us do the the job correctly. The nice thing about hardware cloth is that it can be bent into angles which looks 100% better than chicken wire.  Also I suggest the metal bird spikes, the plastic fades and weathers. Just a few tips to point you in the right direction.

Also just think about the height of the job, should you really be up there? I don’t do roofs… anymore.

How do termites get into home?

Any break or protrusion into the structure can be an avenue for termites, so any pipe or other object that extends past the concrete can be their entrance.

This was an easy entrance for the termites and once in they usually don’t leave without taking a bit of your home for food. So what do you look for:

  1. Any mud tube/tunnel on the outside foundation wall.
  2. Any suspicious dirt on the ceiling, small hole with dirt around it.
  3. Drop Tubes inside the homes.
  4. Baseboard that looks crinkled, subterranean termites usually run with the grain of the wood.

At this time of year due to the cooler nights some of the mammals will try to enter structures. They don’t know any different than this looks like a cave or tree hole.

So don’t make your home or business look like their home. Seal any holes or access points and stop them from getting in. They will x0ollect leaves, twigs and anything that will help to keep them warm.
