The scorpion was a gift for speaking in Mexico (my largest group ever over 500) from my friends Tere de and Eduardo Dessens, Tere saved my life by translating my talk on termites into Spanish and Eduardo used to work for FMC Mexico. The grasshopper I found while on one of my antique trips in Arizona. I’m always on the hunt for unique bug stuff.

Favorite places includes Zoos. Recent event have brought more of a focus on bats, as the Honeybees has had some disease problems this last year. The bats also developed White Nose conditions and also had a bad year, so this bat exhibit comes at a great time for the bats. It really is amazing that these bats really help man by eating lots of insects and pollinating plants and trees. To find out what you can do to help save the bat, please visit http://www.yearofthebat.org

Also visit a zoo this year – visit Association of Zoo and Aquariums http://www.aza.org and http://wildexplorer.org to get info on animals!

(No animals were harmed in writing this home seal and we encourage the proper methods for capturing and relocating animals located in unwanted places).

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in schools a good thing?

Is Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in schools a good thing?

Texas mandates IPM for their schoolsSchool Integrated Pest Management

The days of spraying every home is gone it’s all about less = more, what do I mean? Pesticides have been changing for a long time.  They have become better in mode of action against the bugs. IPM Institute We now have baits and specific control products for specific insect pests. Isn’t it better to localize treatment rather than spray areas where no bug have ever been seen. Some people may be allergic to insect skins or fecal material while another may be allergic to a certain type of pesticide. Caution should be the power word in dealing with anyone that may be sensitive to a certain chemical pesticide.   A recent home seal here at ProBest talks about The days of power spraying every house is coming to a close…

My theory is less pesticide in the home is better!
