Here a few pictures to remind you of what you are looking for.

Things you shouldn’t ignore…

Things you shouldn’t ignore…

  1. Being bitten by something at night – OK don’t panic, it might not be what your thinking but. So think before you react, ask yourself some questions – have you traveled, have you had guest over, do children frequent your home? If you check your bedroom and you find a bug please save it for the pest company or if you are able to bring it to a Pest Management Professional that would be great. You can also send a picture just don’t smoosh it. Remember it might not be a Bed Bug, on the other hand it might be so take care.
  2. Honeybees flying in and out of your home, the longer they stay the bigger the issue becomes. More bees equals more honeycomb, wax and honey. Again this is a problem that requires a Pest Management Professional.
  3. Dirt, soil or mud tubes on the walls or coming down the ceiling of your home. Well its probably termites and the faster you make that call the less damage will occur.
  4. Water stains on the ceiling, water problems can lead to termite problems. This is a call for the roofer!
  5. When in doubt call ProBest 602-249-7378

Termites and your slab of concrete!

Termites and your slab of concrete!

So what happens when a pipe burst underneath your slab under your home? Well something like this picture above, no not the giant hole, the customer or the plumber dug this out. The point I want to make is that when you alter the slab it is very important to treat the soil beneath the concrete for termites. Sometimes if you fail to treat it may void your termite warranty. I also like to treat this while it’s in a state of repair and before you put tile or wood floor on it. I hate to mess up tile or wood floors with drill holes.

Post Tension Slabs…

Post Tension Slabs…

Post tension slabs are the way to go if you are trying to prevent termites from getting into your home. Its not always the absolute but with those cables tightened up, it should be better at preventing them from getting into the home – at least from the inside. Nothing will stop the termites from getting in from the outside of the foundation, except termiticides.

The picture below is from the front portion of the garage and honestly I don’t have any idea how they got there. The bad part of this termite activity are those cabinets which block the view of entry for those termites.

Termite Tubes and more termite tubes….

Termite Tubes and more termite tubes….

Bigger and bigger, the termites are munching away at this home. Our termites in Arizona are not as aggressive as the Eastern US termites so typically we don’t have extensive damage to homes.

We do need termites!

We do need termites!

Termites break down wood debris in nature, you can find them in logs and here in Arizona cactus and even grass. Termites are always looking for food 24/7/365 and they will do whatever they have to to find it.

I’m just impressed – termites and their handywork!

I just happen to think they look cool, but I’m not right and I know it. The one on the left looks like a tree, maybe it’s the Termite Family Tree.

Queen Termite, workers and males —— 250 million years of eating wood and homes. Coming soon to your home unless it is already protected by ProBest Pest Management!

Termite Warranty or Guarantee…

Termite Warranty or Guarantee… to renew or not to renew?

You just had termite work done at your home and it cost X amount of dollars, they also mentioned that you could renew the policy in a year. Well that year has gone by and you can’t make up your mind, what to do? Do you renew or take the chance?

Well here is my opinion – if you live in the south I would probably renew it. Where there is water and the temperature is warm most of the year there are going to be active termites and bugs. I also believe that it isn’t always so easy to remind ourselves to look for and keep up with things around our homes. Yes its easy to say I’ll remember, or my husband or wife will take care of it. But more often than I can count someone will come into our office and say – just take care of it, we can’t remember or it just escapes our attention.

So wouldn’t it be easy enough to just let ProBest Pest Management handle it for you? Do you have a warranty from someone that just doesn’t care about service? Do you have issues with talking to the right person at the termite company or have you lost confidence with them? Then make that call or send us a contact https://callprobest.com/contact or call us 602-249-7378.
